We had another great week of 24 hour - 7 days straight of prayer on July 22nd through July 29th! Take a moment and read some people's experience from this year's 24-7 prayer week...

My blessing came in sharing my hour with my daughter. She is 10 and I got to watch her as she loved God. I feel truly lucky.

I spiritually feel a weight lifted off my shoulders. I can breathe spiritually again.

It was awesome! To be made aware of the pains of others, be able to reach out to God, and pray for them. It was a touching experience.

There is an awesome presence of God in the prayer room. God’s Holy Spirit is awesome. I thought only someone stupid would miss their time slot but, guess what… I’m that stupid person. I asked the staff to call me if their people didn’t show up. Guess what, they called me at 12 am and I came running down. The presence of God has been unbelievable!! 1 am came and guess what… I got to spend another hour with the Lord. Someone else didn’t show up. I feel so blessed to have spent this time with Jesus. He always gives us another chance.

I thought I would have a hard time praying because I wasn’t really sure what to pray for or what to expect but it was great how everything was set up. I had no trouble praying what so ever.

I started out like last year going to a few of the stations. But, after about 15 minutes, I went to the table and chair. I started reading what was written and prayed for each one in the book. I cried with them, prayed with them, praised with them. It was an amazing experience to pray for someone unknown to me but also someone from this church. Praise God! I was blessed with praying for someone in need and his/her specific problem.

I came in TIRED, TIRED, TIRED, worked late… but God rejuvenated me in prayer! Wish I had a “furnace” at home. Loved focusing on others prayer requests. I look forward all year for this. Prayer is powerful!

My experience with the 24-7 prayer room was very moving. I feel I am so much closer to God than before I stepped into that room. I thank you for doing this. It really gave me time to think and realize how important my time with God really is.

You were right… an hour wasn’t enough. I was so overwhelmed by God’s love the moment I walked into the Furnace, as well as by how many people there are who need Him in their lives. I am on such a high right now. I am so grateful to be given this opportunity. Thank you!

The experience of unity in the community of Christ is so present. Knowing we all worship together the same loving God is almost overwhelming. God is on Long Island – May His holy name and love be known to all who live here!

What an amazing set up. At first I was worried about what I’d do for an hour. Then I saw all the stuff and got a little more worried (I’m a worrier). But taking each station one by one was amazing and inspiring. I don’t think many people know how many ways there are to pray and how fun/rewarding it can be.

It was great! The hour went so fast and I wish I had more time. It was a great setting. I loved the lyric wall, it was my favorite part.

Being in the prayer room was like stepping into a living snapshot of what God is doing among the people of True North at this moment. It was such a powerful reminder of how Christ meets us exactly where we are, as we are – struggling with addiction, tragedy, worry, sickness, fear, sin, or rejoicing at how sweet life can be – and regardless of circumstances, embraces us in the most amazing love and compassion and understanding. It was so good to be reminded of how real His love is and how constant His care is. Thank you for this space and time.

It has never been my thing to cry but this environment is spell-binding. I get into a writing mood after reading the prayers of others. It is a great feeling to be able to explore that side of myself. I have so much to be happy for. It is very awe-inspiring to know I’ve had the Lord in my life all this time and all it took was for me to look in the right places.

What a wonderful blessing of time away from traffic, noise, TV, radio, computers, etc. It is very necessary to have quiet time with God. Thank you for providing the space and all the creative ways in which to pray and feel closer to God!

I came in with a heavy heart and left with a much lighter one. At the start you wonder how you are going to pray for an hour, then it is gone before you know it and you are still praying. Thank you!

It is a great way to realize how many things in your life you need God for, and also how many things we are thankful for. We should do this twice a year.

I’ve been struggling for several weeks to be more faithful in seeing God everyday in a quiet prayer time and by reading His word more. Today I experienced such a richness and was reminded of how rewarding prayer is. I will carry that with me into my personal prayer. Thank God!

Praise God! It is wonderful to have a quiet time to talk with God with on interruptions. Praise God for all He is doing at True North!

I came wanting to vocalize my praise and thanksgiving for the Lord’s presence and work in my family and my life. Also I came to place my neighbors on the alter, pray for their salvation and to claim them for Jesus. Praise to His name!

This was a wonderful way to pray. It is not enough time. I feel blessed and was able to open myself more to my glorious God. I am so glad I came to pray and give thanks to Him!

To be completely honest with you, I walked in not knowing what to pray for and when I walked out, I realized one hour is just not enough. I think it was amazing and I would do it again and again. It was what I need and spiritually I think it revived me. Who would have thought I’d be able to revive myself with God alone? Sometimes that’s just what we need.

Well I agree there is not enough time. My experience was good but I could have written for hours. Maybe that’s what I will do from this point on. It is something I don’t get to do lately. I seem to be able to communicate my thoughts better through the pen. This has inspired me to get back to that. Hopefully this is also a step towards letting the Father into my heart and trusting Him 100%.

It was wonderful to be in the Furnace and feel God’s love and spirit. So much energy! The stations were great to guide you into what is most on your mind, especially when you don’t realize you are concerned about something. Being in the prayer room brought it to the surface. I also appreciated the solitude with no interruptions! Thank you for putting the room and week together for us!
